Rally Championships: The Thrill of the Drive!
OMG, the world of rally championships is like, totally buzzing with excitement! Seriously, the best drivers and teams, from all over the globe, are, like, everywhere competing in these crazy high-stakes events. From those snowy mountains in Sweden – brrr! – to the sunny streets of Italy – I wish I was there! – rally championships are a real test of skill, strategy, and endurance. I mean, the pressure must be insane!
A Brief History of Rally Championships
The first rally championship thingy was, I think, in 1973? Anyway, since then, it’s gotten way more popular and, like, a million times more complicated. The FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) is the main event, with the best drivers and teams. There’s 13 rounds, starting in Monte Carlo, Monaco – fancy! – and ending in Japan. I’m pretty sure I read that somewhere…
The 2023 World Rally Championship
2023 WRC is gonna be epic! There’s a new car class, the WRC-OS, with a hybrid engine and new aero – whatever that means! Plus, they changed the points system. Now they give points to the top 10, which seems fair, I guess.
Round | Location | Dates |
---|---|---|
1 | Monte Carlo, Monaco | March 16-18 |
2 | Karlstad, Sweden | March 23-25 |
3 | Mexico City, Mexico | April 6-8 |
… | … | … | (So many more races! I can’t keep track!) |
Notable Drivers and Teams
You gotta watch these guys:
- Ott Tänak (Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT): This Estonian dude won the WRC championship in 2020 and 2021. He’s amazing!
- Sebastien Ogier (Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT): The French guy, he’s won, like, six times! Seriously impressive. 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020… and another one. I can’t remember when.
- Hyundai Shell Mobis WRT: The Korean team won in 2020 and 2021. Go Korea!
- Team Peugeot Total: The French team won in 2019. France is doing great!

These rallies are gonna be crazy!
